About Us

Hi, my name is Rachel, and I am a mum of one, cheeky, energetic 2 year old boy. I love creating and thinking about how I can brighten someone elses day.

Before my son was born, around his 22-week scan, we were told he had a rare genetic disorder that they could not tell us exactly what it would mean for his health.

This left us with a lot of stress and around 6 months pregnant, my amniotic sac ruptured from an infection and my son was born at 27 weeks 3 days and weighed 1014g. We spent 3 months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) during peak covid pandemic.

My husband and I did not see our friends or family for 3 months in fear of getting sick and not being able to see our son, who at that time due to his genetic disorder, we did not even know if he would live. To top that off, my husband and I were not allowed to be at our son’s bedside together in NICU.

As someone who already suffered intense anxiety, this was the most deeply heart wrenching, traumatic and stressful time of my life. When my son left the hospital, he left with a feeding tube, and spent 9 months with this as he refused to drink a bottle due to a feeding aversion.

Before this experience, I had NO IDEA about NICU or how intense this experience could be for parents. 
 

We still fear the unknown about my son’s future, but he is currently doing well and thriving. Once I got through this time, I found out that I had the same genetic disorder as my son.

Crazily, a year later, our best friends found themselves in a similar situation and their beautiful daughter was born 2 months premature. She is thriving. When this happened, our friends had no idea what we could do, and with my own NICU experience, I put love and thought into creating a gift bundle for our best friends on behalf of our group of friends and from this Tiny Treasures Gift Co was born.
 

It is tough watching a loved one, or dear friend go through a hard time and oftentimes we are unsure what on earth we can do to show we care.

Tiny Treasures Gift Co has carefully thought about what items are truly needed during these times of hardship and have taken the guess work from gifting something beautiful to your friends and family when they are struggling.
